Fuelling Founders, Naturally: Reignite Drops In at Hatch Colombo
There’s a particular kind of energy inside a startup space. Late-afternoon laptops, half-finished pitch decks, three conversations happening at once, and the quiet hum of people building things that don’t exist yet. Recently, we brought our own kind of energy into the mix — and handed out a few cans while we were at it.
Reignite ran a free sampling activation at Hatch, the coworking space and startup incubator in the heart of Colombo Fort. If you’ve been, you know the building: a restored colonial landmark that was once the tallest in Fort, now home to founders working across fintech, agri, cleantech, edtech and just about everything in between. Hatch calls itself the “centre of gravity for all things startup,” and on the day, it lived up to the name.
A simple idea: taste it, don’t read about it
The plan was straightforward. Walk in, meet the community, and let people try the drink instead of scrolling past it. Members, freelancers and founders stopped by between meetings to sample Reignite across our three blends — Classic, Cinnamon and Ginger — each built on handpicked Ceylon black tea rather than the synthetic base most energy drinks lean on.
The reaction we kept hearing was some version of the same line: “this doesn’t taste like an energy drink.” Which is exactly the point.
Why natural matters for people who work hard
Most energy drinks are built for the spike. A hit of synthetic caffeine and sugar, a sharp lift, then the 3 p.m. crash that sends you reaching for the next can. For a room full of people pulling long hours, that cycle gets old fast.
Reignite was made for the opposite. The caffeine is natural, drawn from Ceylon tea, and it’s paired with L-theanine for calm, steady focus instead of jitters. There’s a prebiotic in every can for gut health, a B-vitamin complex to support energy metabolism, and antioxidants that come from the tea itself. No artificial colours, no artificial preservatives, no crash — just clean energy that lasts about as long as the work does. In a startup, that’s usually a while.
It’s the same formula that picked up recognition as one of Sri Lanka’s best innovations, built on a patented process we’re genuinely proud of.
The best part wasn’t the sampling
Handing out cans is useful for the obvious reason. But the better part was the conversation. Our team spent the day talking with the Hatch crowd about what they actually want from a drink they keep at their desk, and the answer kept circling back to wellness. People read labels now. They want function without the guilt, and they’re rightly sceptical of anything promising the world on a can.
That’s a good sign for us and a good sign for the category. The appetite for healthier beverages in Sri Lanka is real and growing, and the founders at Hatch are exactly the kind of people driving it.
Why Hatch made sense
Hatch is a community built on ambition, late nights and the belief that local ideas can go global. We feel the same way about natural energy — that something made in Sri Lanka, from Ceylon tea, can hold its own anywhere. Spending a day among that crowd felt less like a brand activation and more like meeting people who already get it.
What’s next
This is one of several activations we’re rolling out across workplaces, events and communities around the island. If your team, office or event could use a refreshing reset, we’d love to bring Reignite by.
Until then: pick your flavour, skip the crash, and reignite your soul.
